In this world of instant gratification, where it is all about getting followers today and RTs on our content, the concept of needing to make it through the first 6 to 18 months is a bit foreign to the modern blogger. This year I just launched a new blog and even with years of blogging experience I find myself pulling my hair out watching the slow trickle that is my new blog's traffic. Luckily I know (and get reminded by fantastic articles such as yours) that if I stick at it I will break the barrier eventually.

Better still if you can spot something in the industry that is wrong which no one is talking about and focus on it, then it's a great way to get traffic and a ton of links as other places continue the debate.
The length of words – There are over 3 billion websites on the web today so Google will not rank your website if you write short 50-word articles for your blog. A good content should have a minimum of 500 words but the more the better! Seasoned bloggers write at least 1, 000 words a day whereas book authors write around 2.500 words a day. What’s stopping you from writing at least 500?
I just read half of this post and noticed that I have previously implemented several of these suggestions into my website. The theme I uploaded to my wordpress blog has a link already installed in it for the 'RSS FEED.' From what I understand, the 'RSS FEED' is basically a way for visitors to subscribe to receive any updates posted to your website. How do I know if it is set up properly or not?

For example, why is SEOmoz's Twitter score only a "13" when we have so many more followers, interactions and retweets than many of those with higher scores? Who knows.
