TESTING 1.4 AVR WITH 4k@60hz 4:4:4 FOR COMPATIBILITY

Here are some directions for testing a 1.4 or below avr for sound when sending 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz through Integral.
The purpose of this test is to see if your 1080p or 4K30 AVR will work with the integral for sound when Integral is passing thru 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz signal from source to display and 4:2:0 conversion is activated on second output channel.

****If the sound does not work (if the below test fails) we do have a solution available now for 4K24/25/30 video pass through on one channel and downscale 4k@24,25 and 30 hz to 1080p out of the secondary integral channel to make the sound work. This will work for the nvidia shield, PC's, firetv, Sony FMP-X10 as well as most all other devices. The only tested device that will not downscale is the new roku 4 as of yet.
To get sound working you will need the integral as well as the splitter 4k pro.*****

A few notes. I would install teamviewer and have it working before attempting so if you mess up your pc you can log on and fix it.
Please hook the pc directly to the avr then to the display.
Please ensure you have a 4k capable video card as nvidia and ati radeon work with EDID overrides but for intel integrated graphics you need to use the integral. As the intel integrated graphics does not support EDID overrides.

These directions are taken from Tulli’s excellent EDID override thread here
http://www.avsforum.com/forum/26-home-t ... xxx-s.html

So First we need to download a 4k edid
Grab it from here
http://www.hdfury.com/tools/4K_Integral ... ection.zip

Then install it by either the easy or alternate method below:

Easy Method
1. Go to Start
Computer [Right-click]
Properties [Select]
2. Device Manager [Select]
Monitors[Expand]
Monitor ID [Righ-Click] (usually "Generic PnP Monitor")
Properties [Select]
Driver tab [Select]
Update Driver button [Select].
3. Make sure that the .inf driver is the ONLY one in its dir
Browse my computer for driver software [Select]
Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer [Select]
Have Disk [Select]
Browse to the directory where .inf driver is located.
Click on .inf file and then on the Open button
OK [Select]
Next [ Select]
Confirm installation if necessary ([Windows Security] Install this driver software anyway)
Close [Select]
REBOOT

Alternate method
If you have more than 1 monitor setup you most probably will have more than one "Generic PnP Monitor" device in the Monitors tab. Use this alternate procedure for these cases.
1. Mouse on Desktop [Right-click]
Personalize [Select]
2. Display [Select] (Select the display device corresponding to your AVR)
Change display settings [Select]
Screen of the display device to override [Select]
Advanced settings [Select]
Monitor Tab [Select]
Properties button [Select]
Driver tab [Select]
Update Driver button [Select]
3. Follow step 3 from Easy Method above

After you REBOOT you should be able to select the 4K60 4:2:0 resolution. I recommend start a video playing then change the resolution to the 4k60 4:2:0 one to see if you still get sound through the avr. Then you can use teamviewer to set the resolution to where you had it previously if need be.

If you AVR can decode 4K60 4:2:0 (300MHz) Audio, then you will be able to use Integral 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz from Source to Display and have a secondary output at 4K60 4:2:0 300MHz to feed your AVR.

PS: of course, if your graphics card is HDCP2.2 then make sure your audio/video player won't turn on encryption during playback. Otherwise the test cannot work without Integral in the mix.
